The Orchard Group

The churches planted by Orchard Group Church Planting are all affiliated with the Independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ.  This Christian Church fellowship is made up of over 5,000 independent churches, linked by common cause and vision.  They operate three seminaries, over twenty Christian colleges, and numerous missions agencies and benevolent ministries. 

According to the recent Glen Mary Study, the Independent Christian Churches were the fastest growing Christian fellowship in America (of groups over one million in size) during the decade of the 1990s.  They experienced 18.5% growth during the decade.  Much of that growth was in new churches and megachurches (churches over 2,000 in size), where the Christian Churches have been one of the leading Christian fellowships.

While the majority of Christian Churches are in middle America, an increasing number are being planted on both coasts.  The churches tend to be marked by their focus on meeting a broad base of needs in the communities in which they serve.
