Christ's Church of the Valley
To date it is the largest new church planted by Orchard Group Church Planting. Averaging over 1,200 in Sunday morning attendance is Christ's Church of the Valley, in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. The church began meeting in a local movie theater in October of 2000, and grew quickly. They moved into their current permanent facility and 19 acre campus in the summer of 2006.
CCV is currently in the midst of a construction project that will more than double the size of its current facility and add a new student ministries building – The SportsZone. In late March 2009 CCV will move its adult services from the current building (400 seats) into a brand new 1,000 seat multi-purpose auditorium. The current building will be completely dedicated to children’s ministry (birth through 5th grade) with the elementary class (2nd through 5th grade) moving into the current adult auditorium, including state of the art sound, projection, and lighting capabilities!
Brian Jones, Senior Pastor, and his team are doing a terrific job with this dynamic congregation. Brian recently authored his second book Getting Rid of the Gorilla. His first book Second Guessing God quickly sold out of its first printing. Both books were published by Standard Publishing Company. Second Guessing God now in its second printing.
Orchard Group continues to provide oversight to this congregation as it transitions its Leadership Team to a permanent mostly internal structure. Orchard Group has also and will continue to partner with Christ's Church of the Valley on church planting efforts in the northeast as well as in southeastern Pennsylvania.
